salon adventure

around 6:30pm last saturday, a friend called me up and asked me to accompany her to Piandre. when we arrived at Piandre, the receptionist told us that they were not accepting customers anymore since they close at 7pm. so we headed to Salon de Manila. when we were about to park, the guard asked us if we had appointments since the salon closes at 7pm also. and so we left. we decided to go to "that salon in the corner near ABS".

since i had nothing better to do, i decided to get a haircut myself. the stylist asked me "do you always tie your hair?" and i said yes. he asked me if i would be comfortable wearing side bangs. believe me, i had nothing better to do. i said yes. he told me that i can still tie my hair even with the bangs. his exact words: para may ginagalaw galaw ka sa hair mo. and then he proceeded on cutting my hair. he then suggested to put some body on my hair. and i said OK. and then he goes on cutting my hair again in l-a-y-e-r-s. i was a bit surprised with myself for being so game with the stylist. haha :) and that explains my new haircut.

i was texting a friend that i was in "that salon in the corner near ABS". and she replied: ah yung parlor ng mga artista. voila! cholo barretto was there. hahaha :) and the Born Diva contestants go there too. jeez.

but the service was great! hands down. the people were so nice. well, i think they need to be nice since they are servicing artistas.

trying to be funny

for this weekend's print ad, it was supposed to feature Hero and Sandara for top billing and the rest of the SCQ with minor billing. so i submitted the print ad to the SCQ manager for approval. she then asked Mr. M's approval. her conversation with her boss went something like this:

Mr. M: Gusto nila malaman kung sino lang approved sa print ad na yan?
Manager: Yes po.
Mr. M: <rips off Sandara's pic>
<points to Hero's pic> yan lang ang approved sa print ad na yan.

believe me, he was in a good mood when he did that. weird humor eh?

now, i still don't have a study for this weekend's print ad. i can see a long thursday ahead of me :(

is that a rabbit? an alien? guess who :)

graduation

before today's workshop ended, Teacher Tom reminded us to bring our bosses next week for our graduation. he was even signing our certificates during the afternoon break. i felt nostalgic at once, remembering that i had my last graduation 4 years ago.

even though it will just be the 25 of us, and it'll be a simple ceremony, i'm actually quite excited for it :)

crash into me

my Nokia 3650 crashed this morning. huhuhu. i don't have back up yet for the phone numbers stored in the phone memory. i just hope i can save the pics in my memory card.

i'm using my trusty Nokia 3530 now. why trusty? its always in my bag. i use it whenever my 3650 batt goes empty and i can't charge right away. or if my friends' phones' run out of batt too, i lend them my 3530.

sigh. oh, i shouldn't be complaining. i should be thankful that i have a spare phone with me :)

update: my 3650 is back in action! woohoooo :) thank goodness i didn't have to pay for the re-installation of the software. the office gladly paid for it since its an office-issued phone. yay! :)

thank goodness for the new printer

we have a (take note: a = 1) new printer in the office and it prints documents in a flash. believe me, unbelievable speed.

thank goodness, the Mumog guys have budget to buy a new printer. if you were to print 20 pages with the old printer, it would take you around at least 8 mins. highly unproductive (*rolls eyes*). at times, i would really get pissed because it takes ages before i can see what i have printed.

lucky me, i'm seated in front of the Mumog guys and they happily shared their new printer with me. anyways, here's a pic of the newest baby in the office :)

(boring pic, i know)

tu meni tu mach

tu meni tu mach work nowadays. i can feel the pagod already, sagad hanggang buto. sigh. even my daily aromatherapy fix isn't helping me anymore.

catching up with these skyrocket-high targets make me dizzy.

my friendster pics

Emoticons told me: "P*******a mga pics mo sa friendster, kung di kita kilala, iisipin ko fanatic ka."

LOL. yeah i agree. but when i was uploading those pics one crazy day, i was not thinking in those lines. i just wanted to make fun of myself by uploading my pics with the celebs. but more of, wala lang akong magawa.

i guess doing so was not a great idea to begin with. one celeb commented: "Si Ate bratty di man lang kami sinama sa pictures." uh oh. and then everybody else who was not in the pic replied in unison: "Oo nga." jeez. i'll take them out!!!

not :p

gin, tequila and beer

i had too much of all of the above last friday night. thank goodness i was still sane enough:

- to hide from video cameras from being filmed along with other artists for the showbiz shows and showbiz segments of news shows
- to go home in one piece and go up four flights of stairs alone
- not to start a fight by picking on others

how can some guys not have respect for women even if they are married, with kids, and have kerida? sheesh.

as my officemate declared days before the birthday bash: "i have always been drunk in his birthday parties."

amen to that.

lesson for the day

don't launch 3 different print ads all in one publication day most expecially if it deals with 80 artists.

why?

a) placing / positioning the artists in a limited space is a headache. how i wish i can have all the billboards in metro manila.
b) getting the approval of the managers is very toxic. you can't gather all of them together. thank god for secretaries!
c) getting Mr. M's approval is excruciating. he's a VERY BUSY man.
d) and i never thought getting pics of Piolo Pascual can qualify for a leg in Amazing Race.

Exercise to Get a Positive Outlook

i got this from one of my constant blog reads.
------------------------------------------
Exercise to Get a Positive Outlook: George Bush (as example)

1. Open a new file in your PC.
2. Name it "George Bush".
3. Send it to the trash.
4. Empty the trash.
5. Your PC will ask you, "Do you really want to get rid of George Bush?"
6. Answer calmly, "yes," and press the mouse button firmly.
7. Repeat daily.
------------------------------------------
i'm definitely trying it soon! :)

fake plastic trees, part III

a friendster message was sent to me about stuff i don't know. feelers?

yay friday!

i love fridays!

its the day of the week when everyone in the office can just slouch and slob all day long! even though i had 3 consecutive meetings today (11-12, 12-2, 2-4), all happened so fast that by the end of my last meeting, my adrenaline was still high that i was able to compute the handsome royalties of my beloved KText artists! :)

but no! Not The Photographer wants to hand out all the checks to the artists this time. he wants to be recognized in that manner. oh well, let him be. its his cheap thrill :)

so bora is definitely booked! hurrah! paging Carambs, OJT Killer and Denialqueen, join me, Yeyet and Jerwin! sige na, while the fare is P1,500 pa lang :)

about the trade fair? well, i was definitely DRUNK! downing 2 bottles of Elysee was heaven! well, blame it on one of the waiters. the last (and first) time he saw me was at Yeyet's and Jerwin's wedding and well, i was drunk too! first impressesion lasts? he kept refilling my wine glass the whole night. and my officemates kept on asking me to bring wine in our booth. i'm beginning to wonder what they think of me. hmmmmm...

i just finished reading Sarah Dunant's The Birth of Venus and i remember one of the lines in the book: It does not do not to think of men. ha! soooo true. yeah, yeah, yeah, obsessing again in matters i have categorized as past.

and i don't know why my blog is very popular to spammers. i had 2 spam posts for the week. i'll be making a stats report soon on this. not.

thanks to Lola for tonight's dinner. Garlic Crab at Red Crab. yummmmy. literally made me forget that i was eating dinner with a friend. and Lola felt the same way too :) hehe.
