bye 2004

a few more hours and we'll be saying goodbye to 2004 and welcoming 2005.

cheers everyone! here's to 2005. hope we'll all have a greater year ahead :)

so happy together

i don't watch Philippine movies in the cinemas. i don't know why, i just don't. i can't even remember the last Philippine movie i watched in the cinemas. i don't even use the Star Cinema tickets given to me. don't take me wrong, i have nothing against them, i just don't.

so when my HS barkada wanted to watch So Happy Together, i couldn't even squeak a "NOOOOOOOOO!" i couldn't back out either because i was riding home with my HS bestfriend. i must say the film is pretty good. we were laughing the whole time and we got serious during the serious moments of the movie. not bad for my first and last Philippine movie for 2004.

of squeaky-clean image

i have nothing against smoking and smokers. it just disturbs me that some artists have the guts to smoke in public when the image they project on screen is the squeaky-clean, goody-goody type.

my first "disturbance" happened when i saw Prattles smoking while waiting for his turn in the recording. i never imagined him smoking. he's just not the type. maybe with the roles he play. but still.

in Softdrink Surfer Dude's birthday party, i saw Charmee Boy smoking. oh my! while watching him smoke, my paradigm shift was happening. i was beginning to accept that, hey, they're humans too like me.

nah...i still get disappointed when i see the squeaky-clean artists smoke in public ;(

i almost missed my flight...again!

i missed my 5AM flight to Davao last year. it was the ABS-CBN Christmas Party and we partied till the wee hours of the morning. i couldn't care less what time it was, even if i haven't packed my bags yet, coz i was having fun! :) hahaha. so when i headed to the airport, there was a mile-long line so obviously i won't make my flight as it was already one hour before the scheduled departure. nonetheless, i was able to get a later flight and i was in Davao in the same day.

a part two to that story would have happened last sunday. knowing that the ABS-CBN Christmas Party would be on a friday, i booked a sunday flight. i wouldn't want to make the same mistake or my mom would hang me. swear, she really would. this time, i packed ahead of time. (atta girl!) i also couldn't risk sleeping as i have the habit of not waking up to alarms. so i stayed in the office and played, what else, tantra. i played till 1am.

and then i said goodbye to my officemates and to my lovely cubicle, headed home, fixed my room and headed to the airport. when i reached the airport, the line was 2-mile long. i instantly panicked! i was already imagining myself being hanged by my mom. there was also a shortage of carts and i had 2 bags, a glass trophy, a backpack with me. i was hauling them all my by 2 small hands (really, i have 2 small hands for my height.)

luckily, the guard hollered "yung mga walang cart, dito na pumila". thank goodness! there's a shorter line. it was already 4AM. i was able to get in after 20 mins. panic panic panic! i dragged all my stuff from the rightmost side of the airport as my check in counter was counter 7. when i reached the counter, it was already close. i was begging the lady to accept my ticket. luckily, there were other passengers who came and begged the lady. she got our tickets and checked us in.

after i got my boarding tickets, i called my sister and told her to pick me up at 7AM. whew! what a relief! i took my time going to the cashier to pay for the terminal fee. when i got past inside the pre-departure area, it was announced in the PA system that it was already last call for boarding for my flight. cold sweat drenched me. i ran from the middle of the airport, to the leftmost side (my gate was S01). i was out of breath by the time i reached the bridge leading to the aircraft.

when i got settled in my seat, that was when i was able to relax. as planes make me sleepy, i dozed off to sleep even before take off. so i woke to the announcement that we were 15 minutes away from the destination.

so there. i hope i've learned my lesson well. i promise to be at the airport 2 hours before departure. haha :) let's see :)

land of durian

i'm blogging from Davao!!! my recent highlights:

(1) i almost missed my flight. i was still in the check-in counter when the PA system said "last call for boarding for flight XXX bound for davao." i sprinted from the right side of the building (where my check-in counter was) to the left-most part of the airport (where my gate was).

(2) i have been eating durian for the past 2 days. in every meal that i eat, i will certainly ask the maid to bring out the durian.

(3) my newest character in Tantra has been deleted since they had a rollback because of a hacking incident.

(4) talk about bored, i was putting the pieces together of a 1000-pc puzzle earlier today.

toodles! off to chatting with officemates :)

i'm off to an early vacation in about 2 hours. i'll be in the Land of Durian for:

- my cousin's wedding
- Xmas
- New Year
- a week off from work :)

bratty hails a cab. cab driver stops, opens back door and asks me "where to?" i reply, "abs-cbn". and then he motions for me to get in. and then he asks me, "san daan natin sa marcos highway?" i give him a puzzled look before replying "xavierville." after passing xavierville, the cab driver asks me "uulitin ko lang ma'am ha, sa libis ba tayo?" bratty replies "a-b-s-c-b-n po." cab driver "aahh, channel 2."

tantra addict

what has kept me lately from posting is this MMOG game, Tantra. we usually play till the wee hours in th morning playing. haha. even on weekends. haha :)

i'm not really a gamer. i never played ragnarok, warcraft, starcraft, not even diablo. but this game i really like! :) here's to Tantra's success, cheers!

martyr? nope, just busy preparing for my one-month leave starting dec 20. woohooooo :) even though i may be sleepless lately, i have to otherwise i'll not be able to take that leave.
