divi
White Mommy asked me last Wednesday to go with her to divi last weekend to buy toys for her kids birthday party. i agreed since i didn't have any plans.
i slept at her place Friday night so that we can go to divi early. My "early" is not the same as White Mommy's "early" since we left her place at around 10AM already.
as we were looking for a parking slot, the driver opened his window to ask the guard if we could park there. oh god, the stench is unbearable. we could barely breathe. immediately, the guard closed the window and quickly parked the car.
in divisoria you'll find all the stuff you'll ever need and all the kinds of people from all walks of life. there's the old homeless man, the taong grasa, the little boy high on drugs, the mother trying to make a living but a thief will get her day's earnings, the Chinese owner who can barely speak Filipino, etc. you can even find a malnourished horse being slaved by a more malnourished owner.
and oh, did i mention the stench already? unbelievably unbearable.
i live in a poor country.

divi is a nice place to shop but i can't bear the stench. and once you're in the streets, that when you realize that you are in a poor country.
